Saves water and time waiting for hot shower!

I had a problem with the water only getting warm at the farthest faucet. I called customer service and spoke with Bryan Shawver. He walked me through a number of checks and determined it was the “timer control device”. He authorized a return and sent out a brand new unit. The new unit was delivered very quickly. Only four days. I installed it and it works perfectly!
I am very impressed with Bryan and your Customer Service Department and the very rapid resolution of my situation.
I had previously bought your previous version where the timer control was mounted under the sink. This unit lasted at least 10 years. That is my reason for buying the new unit. I hope it last at least as long as the first unit.

It is so quiet, I thought it was not working, but the operation of it is AWESOME!!!!!

Excellent packaging and great product. Install it and forget it, you will have hot water any time.

My plumber installed it and now we have instant hot water! We love it and the company Watts got it to us as expected at a great price.

It took me a while before I could install the pump. First, I couldn't drain out the hot water as it was clot inside and I tried to flush it with a hose but to no avail. It still drained slowly and I gave up. Second, my hot water tank was set in a position that the timer control would be facing away so that the hot vent would not be touching the pump. To solve that problem, I would have to rotate the tank and it was not practical because I couldn't drain the hot water. I gave up to rotating the tank too. I bought a small extension / riser to raise the connection of the pump to the tank instead. Third, because of the distance between the pump and the hot water out pipe was so close (about 7"), I had a hard time trying to connect them. At first, I used a 12" stainless steel pipe and it leaked; tried a flexible 12" & 18" flexible copper pipes and they were just too stiff to connect. Finally, I used a 24" ACE flexible pipe and it worked.
Currently I set my pump to the on position and I use a remote switch to turn it on and off. I now getting hot water within seconds. My wife likes it. Next, I am going to use a Smart Plug to schedule the Ons & Offs ! Tips - you don't have to drain the hot water to install the pump. You just need to drain a little!

The family loves NOT having to wait for hot water! I love NOT wasting and paying for water waiting to get hot

Pump works great. Nice to get hot water almost instantly instead of waiting for 90 seconds for morning showers. Install was easy and straightforward. Nice to have a timer that you can set for multiple time slots during the day. Overall, love the product and is a good value.

I was really pleased with the customer service i received and once the unit was shipped back to be repaired it was returned i a timely manner and is working great.

Fast delivery. Easy to install.
Love the instant hot water, especially in the morning.

This has been a great purchase for us ! We had to wait what seemed a real long time for our hot water to come to the shower, and all the water going down the drain was such a waste. Now we have hot water so much sooner without the waste ! Told the neighbors and we installed a pump in both of their houses. Thanks again for a great product.

Works great, really does good job in providing instant warm water in bathroom that is farthest from hot water heater in the garage. My second unit, first one lasted over 7 years so I replaced it with exact same unit.
Barry R.
The circulator arrived promptly.
I had a couple of questions for customer service that were answered quickly and efficiently, thank you for that.
Installation is as easy as it could be. Turned it on and it works as described.
I did add a Wi-Fi controlled plug to have a bit more versatility in controlling the unit. I am sure that a Wi-Fi unit will be available at some point in time. But the plug I used works perfectly.

I love having nearly instant hot water in my shower!!
Wish I'd known about this pump many years ago!

Watts / Grundfos Hot Water Recirc Pump.....worked very nicely for a while, then the motor seized up. It was used 12 hours a day for about 9 months. Could not make warranty claim as it was a few months past the year limit from purchase date. I spent $230 on another new pump and am hoping it lasts longer!
DAVID G.
Great service on the replacement. New pump works well.
Juergen S.
Bought the kit 10/25/2012
Replaced water heate rand installed kit 2/20/2017
worked great until 2/22/2020 when it failed
Acquired new kit and installed 2/29/2020
There was a lot of black residue discovered in the pipes during this effort
Assume that came from deteriorated neoprene o-rings
Do you have other possible causes?
IT WORKS GREAT when not broken
Best regards
Juergen

Two seconds to hot water! Should save about $40/year on my water bill and electric to run the pump is about $18/year. So $40-$18=$22 savings per year. The pump cost about $270 with the plumbers bill so break even is $270/$22=12 years.

I like the system. The installation had a problem. The angle stops for the lav basin had permanent attached hoses with 1/2 fpt for connection to the faucet. The nuts bottom out on the "in" valve connections before they seal. I had to purchase additional fittings to make it work.
Don Q.
The pump was a replacement under warranty and is preforming ok. Has a bit of a whine but not irritating enough to go thru the process of taking off and putting on. The people at the service center did a great job by testing an determining that a replacement was needed. Thanks.
Richard W.
Just installed it today and seems to be working.
TERRY J.
I had to return pump because it quit running
It cost me 16.00 to have my warranty honored
I believe the cost of shipping should be borne by the manufacturer if there product fails within a year
JOHNETTA B.
I absolutely love this as hot water heater is in garage and took forever to get hot water in bathrooms. Now it is always there. Just love it !!!
GARY B.
Watts honored their one year warranty with a new pump which works great.

I do love it...the hot water is always there when I need it..thanks a bunch...Dan Lynch

Great solution to having instant hot water at the tap and shower head saving a precious resource as well
Skip,
I purchased the pump in July 2018. It failed in April 2019. In my house, the hot water tank is located on the opposite side from the bathrooms. During the period of time the pump worked it provided hot water quickly to the upper floor. The customer service people are very friendly and professional. However the company will not pay for you to return a defective product. This pump is heavy and cost $21 to ship to the company for review or replacement. The company did replace the pump under warranty.
Russ,
How wonderful to have nearly instant warm water to the back of the house! No, it's not H-O-T hot, but it is warm enough to comfortably wash hands and face immediately. I am so glad I finally broke down and made the purchase!

Installed the Watts Premier Hot Water recirculation pump and sensor on the kitchen sink NOT with the intent of obtaining instant Hot Water (Which it did do quite well!) but to keep both Hot and Cold water line from freezing, The kitchen sink is on an out side wall with pipes coming up from unheated crawl space but with heat tapes installed up to the bottom of the floor which still froze up enough to stop both line completely. Previously, left the faucet drip all the time and even that didn't work all the time. We live at 7300 ft in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and at times it gets to -20 deg F in winter. This did the trick with minor effort. Installation note: Install the 1/2" flex line connection (ALL OF THEM) on the sensor by hand in your hand before putting it under the sink. The plastic threads on the sensor can be rendered usless if cross threaded. Cross threading is easy to do when connecting the flex lines (old stiff type) from the faucet down UNDER the sink with poor lighting and amateur experiance.

Great product! Instillation was easy and now we have instant hot water!

System seemed not to be providing hot water as instantaneously as before, after about a year. Tech support suggested new sensor valve would be the remedy. Correct diagnosis, valve ordered online arrived three days later. Great service all around.
Francois,
Insatalled the pump last month and I"m very happy with it. We now have HOT water at every sink and tub shower. Would recommend this. Easy to install.

We've had ours for over 9 -NINE YEARS !! Going on to #10 !! We got the Hot Water Recirculation System when you could buy it only at Home Depot . That was it. A year later Watts sold them on line. I had looked at all of the many types of Hot Water Tanks and home systems. Everything Co$t a bunch !! Except this. It made crazy claims on how it could reduce the Hot Water time thru-out the home from minutes to mere seconds, along with the cost as well! If not, then I'd get my money back. Heck, even the Mgr. at the Home Depot store at that time, told me the he had one in his home and if I didn't like it, he'd even pay for the Plumbing cost... to put in and to remove, as well ..... I couldn't turn down something like that. So I did it. WOW !!! I had good hot water in the middle of winter in all parts of our 2,700+ sq ft home, with the Hot Water Tank located in a garage corner a long, long ways to even the nearest hot water faucet...a long ways off !! Oh well, it's been great. But I like some of the other folks doing a Review had the same problem. Yes, we had Hot Water sooner than before, but not just right now, if you know what I mean. So I installed one more additional Sensor Valve to the second faucet and we have ALMOST INSTANT HOT WATER, all thru the home. So Boys and Girls, of all ages... If you don't have this for your Home, then please get one !! Just tell them that "Pop sent me !" You'll be glad that you did !! - Pop

I received the WATTS PREMIER 500800 HOT WATER RECIRCULATING PUMP WITH TIMER in the mail at 5pm in the afternoon. By 10pm that night we had almost instant hot water at every tap in the house. Installation was straight forward and easy. No special tools (just an adjustable wrench and screwdriver) were needed and all required parts were included in the box. As another reviewer commented, if you want strictly COLD water at the cold tap, i now takes a few seconds to clear the warm water from the line. Overall we are very satisfied with the unit. At this time we are running it 24/7 and will see how much it increases our monthly average $20 gas bill.

I am generally happy with the system. it works fine. I have a 2600 sure ft. 3 bath 2 story home so Ib have 2 sensors.ButÛ_. if you have natural gas be aware that my gas bill went from $17.99 per mo to $34.99 per mo when the system was on 24/7. I put the timer from 5- 7 am and from 6 to 8 pm and my gas bill is now down to $25 per month. Still a 38 % increase in monthly bill. !! is $84 per year more. The most efficient way to use this is 24/7 but not worth the extra cost to me.

Used to have to wait 90 sec for hot water at furthest facet.( when I say hot I mean to hot to touch). Now 30 sec and it is hot. Was hoping for about 5 sec. Called tech and he said, well it is an improvement. I use the timer mode 15 min on 15 min off which is the min and max time allowed and I have i timed for shut down from 12 am to 6 am. Initially I ran the pump all the time Wonder how it will work on a system that has an expansion tank as required in some areas.

Was chasing hot water on the hot line. After install of recirculating pump as directed, I now chase cold water in the cold line. My cold water at the bathroom closest to the Water Heater is 120 F degrees...the hot water is the same. At the far end of the line, it seems to work as designed.
After speaking with your technician (very informative and polite), he explained what I should expect at each faucet location and suggested, because of the age of our house (1975 w/remodel in 1993), that we probably have "bleed over" of the hot water into the cold line at the older mixing valves which are all single actuator mixing valves. I'll follow his suggestions of testing and possible replacement of the MVs and see if the problem gets corrected.
Thank you for your help.
