The Premier Ultraviolet Add-on Kit is designed for use on Premier's Under Counter Reverse Osmosis systems. Ultraviolet Water Filtration is achieved by using Ultraviolet lamps. Water is routed through a chamber or housing that contains the UV Lamp, as the water passes the UV lamp, the bacteria** in the water is exposed to the UV rays, which are then rendered inactive. Although UV light generally has no impact on chlorine, VOCs, heavy metals, TDS, or other chemical contaminants, combining this treatment with a Reverse Osmosis or filtration system will assure you that your water filtration needs are being met.
